Lares Trek to Machu Picchu

Continue your adventure! Our ascent continues for 3 hours until we reach Hullkiccasa Pass (4,200m/13.779ft), where we take a birds-eye view of the mirror images of glacial lakes. We descend for 2 hours through the endless farmlands and pristine waters to reach the Cucani community. We will visit the Cucani community school to meet the children and spend some time with them.

We are then invited to the volcanic hot springs, where we can soak for one hour, take lunch, and rest our feet. It is time to say goodbye to our fantastic chef and horseman. The body is relaxed, and the mind can begin to prepare for the ultimate experience. We drive 2.5 hours by van to Lares Trek Peru Ollantaytambo, where we’ll have dinner at a tourist restaurant. We take the train to Aguas Calientes at 7:00 pm or 9:30 pm. Our hotel is our last stop for the night—only one night of sleep before the big day.

We are exhilarated to see the final surreal day of your trip. We take the first bus to Machu Picchu Archeological Site. This tour will allow us to explore every corner of the New 7 wonders of the World, UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, and the citadel of Machu Picchu. It is an unforgettable experience. Your guide will be able to direct you through the lively ruins and its main streets. You can then explore the streets and squares of the spiritual center of the globe on your own. Here you will also be able to climb the stone-carved stairways. You can also choose to remain still and enjoy the pure joy of the moment, or you can sit still and feel the peace within.

The Lares Trek takes you to the Inca Trail 4-Day Trek to Machu Picchu. This trek is a short one and offers stunning mountain scenery along trails that few people visit. It’s part of the original Inca trail to Machu Picchu. The sacred be will allow us to hike on the northern side of the sacred Valley. The hike will take us between two mountain ranges, Pitusiray, 6,048m/ 19,842ft, and Sawasiray, 5,766m/ 18,917ft. On the other side is Puma Huanca, 5,330m/ 17,486ft. Capac Salla 5,644m/ 18,517ft.

The highest is at 4758m/ 15,610ft—the sacred Valley between Pisac & Urubamba. Huaran is the point of departure to freedom. We meet the horse riders and load the horses. We leave the Sacred Valley behind and continue northwards along a gentle ascent trail following the small Cancha Cancha River. It takes us approximately 6 hours to reach our destination at Cancha Cancha, 3,800m/12,477 feet. Here we spend the night.

We leave Cancha Cancha and continue to the northeast, passing tiny thatched houses made of stone, jagged mountains, and typical Peruvian transverse areas. After three hours of steady climbing, the path plateaus, and we reach Pachacutec Pass, 4,758m/15610 feet. The spectacular views of Pachacutec Lake and the snowy mountains of Pitusiray will greet us. We will enjoy this unique place, enjoying the magnificent views and feeling the sun’s rays replenish.
